Moving to Oklahoma City

First, let's discuss where you are relocating from. If you are moving from Texas, Kansas, or surrounding states, you probably already know the way of life in this part of the country. Nevertheless, this article may be of benefit since it describes certain formalities that need to be taken care of if you relocate. On the hand, if you are moving from the coasts, the information in this article may be completely new to you. So, let's begin.

Where to Live?

Oklahoma City and suburbs offers several areas that provide from very comfortable to luxury life styles. Downtown area has been recently renovated. With the arrival of new basketball team, Thunders, a few communities near the Ford Center came up. While all kinds of people live here, downtown condo style living is attractive to young professionals and single people. Bricktown is a collection of restaurants, pubs and clubs. You may not necessarily find the clubs open say at 3-4 pm, but by 9 pm things get going.

Moving north, and slightly west to the state buildings and offices, you enter so called Paseo District. This area is close to Oklahoma City University. A few nice restaurants can be found here. If you are thinking to rent, and looking for affordable apartment, you may like this area.

Further North, you are in Nichols Hills area. Some consider this the "Beverly Hills" of Oklahoma City. One feature of the "Hills" is lack thereof, though. But, that's Midwest, do not expect to leave next to a canyon. The houses are relatively expensive in this area. You would be close to the malls and entertainment.
